Multiple uros getting along
As far as I know uros are fairly unsociable with other uros. I have a uro that just moved into a new home after about three years of being by himself. My question would be in a 55 gallon long would another uro be ok to add to the mix. I would fear them fighting. Does anyone have some exp with this. I told my parents I probably wont add another uro to the cage but I thought I could ask.....
Any input would be appriciated JJ |
well, you cant keep a male with a male. they will fight. if you keep a male with a female the might mate and then you got a whole bunch of baby uros. im not sure if you can keep two females together. i think it would be ok. you can put them together and watch them for a long time. if they seem to be doing alright together then keep them together.

it depends on how large your Uro is and if its a male or female you can put two females together but you have to watch them sometimes they get along sometimes they dont
my malis 9 inches in a 50 long i think another 9 inch mali might be able to live in there with him. so look at your tank and picture two malis in there and see if you think they'd be confortable in the size you have |
Here are some pics of the uro and the enclosure.
I question if this is a MALI any thoughts? http://www239.pair.com/gb941/jj/dezi1.jpg http://www239.pair.com/gb941/jj/dezi2.jpg http://www239.pair.com/gb941/jj/dezi3.jpg http://www239.pair.com/gb941/jj/dezi4.jpg http://www239.pair.com/gb941/jj/dezi5.jpg |
why do you have a coke can in the cage, he might get cut. also, i think you need more hides.
|
So whys IMG code disabled?
|
i think he is a mali, every uro varies a little in color
|
The coke can is for size reference.
I will be adding another hide at the other end when I get out to the store next. |
yes thats a mali and it appears to be a male becuase of the yellow on its back (is that its color or is it from the lamp im not sure) male malis get black with yellow on their backs a sometimes on their feet as they get older and females ussually stay tan grey or brown with no yellow
but there are exeptions their can be male mimic females and sometimes female mimic males you can go to www.Deerfernfarms.com they have pictures of most of the differnt kinda of Uros and colors they can come in im not sure about another living in there since i think he's a male if it was a female than another female could probably live in their too if they go along |
