I actually had to work. My town sets its fireworks off on campus. And working at campus safty we all had to work last night for it. I worked with 3 guys directing traffice into one feild then later on helpped direct traffic out and then we got to go pick up all the signs and baracades and such. It wasn't a bad night.

I ate hot dogs and covered the 4th of July festivities at our base over here. No fireworks, no beer, no picnics ... but at least we have air conditioning. :rolleyes:

Celebrated my bday with a big dinner and lots of gifts including a baby timor monitor :)

Independence Day here in the US big celebration with lots of fireworks.

It was a 28'C heat wave on my little island, so i went to the beach! :cool: gotta admit i didnt give the 4th July thing much though!

last year it was marked in the uk by showing the film of the same name on ITV! :)

i forgot it was 4th, woke up at 3 pm i think, sat around alday. remembered i just missed fourth of july when it just turned to the 5th at 12:03am or something

My friend (3 Mexicans and I, white) had a smoke bomb in a little plastic bag and when a cop came he put it in his pockets. THe cop thinking its drugs told him to empty his pockets. So he did, he saw the smoke bomb. But then he told us all to get up against the fence so he could pat us down. He didn't find anything on us (except my knife, which the b-stard confiscated) then when he lets us go not 20' from us there are a group of African Americans smoking some-type of drug. Yes I am positive it was a drug, it was the same scent on the one I caught my sister doing. And the cop didn't do sh1t. So then I called him a racist b-stard (he too was African American)...

28c a heat wave? Wow, it must be really cold on your island.

well, let me put it this way... its not that cold, but my heat lamp goes on for most of the night to keep my viv at 22 C at the moment!!!

I went into the mountains with my mom, sister-in-law, and niece. We hiked into bear country, and the highlight of the trip was my niece, Cami, seeing a couple of ants on a rock. She absolutely adores ants for some reason. She giggles and points, says "ANT!", and then continues in Japanese, so I don't quite understand the rest of what she says. She was perfectly happy when the clouds came and dropped the temperature into the low 60's (F), but when they went away, she'd cover her head and say "Hot!!! Hot!!!". She's going to have a tough time when she goes back to Okinawa in August to visit her mother's family. :D
