LIghting fixture humms

I bought 2 48" lighting fixtures and 2 48" reptiglo 5.0 bulbs and when they are all plugged in the lights only light up at the end and the fixture hummssss?

ANy ideas?

Humming is normal...

Make sure the 2 prongs are secured in the fixture first, a lot of times that will cause what you are describing. However, most fixtures do hum, especially when they are new, and lights often dont work properly until fully warmed up.

Its entirely possible you got a bad bulb or fixture, but if you tried both bulbs in both fixtures withthe same results, I think its the above, or operator failure :D

Turns out both fixtures starters were messed up. Got two others (with reflectors) and it all works great.
